Popular Culture as the Practice of Creating Meanings

چکیده
The purpose of the article is to conceptualise phenomenon modern popular culture as a cultural practice creating meanings. Methodology. General scientific research methods were applied: analysis and synthesis used during review main studies theorists, by virtue using systematic method, was reviewed whole, with coordination its components, comparative collate features others. novelty that definition has been clarified from perspective Ukrainian studies, considering meaning-creation processes makers. Conclusions. Popular type recognises importance ordinary, mundane, while everyday life perceived an important component formation. In life, occurs when makers are not trained specialists, but rather ordinary people, consumers products, who imbue them feelings emotions, give meaning, based on their own opinions customs. Such vision allows us move simplified view hierarchy "high" "low" cultures more complex multi-layered picture functioning culture.
